Foundation of JVS
Jnana Bharati Vidyavardhaka Sangha (R) was formally registered on 7th October 1989 in Akki-Alur, Hanagal taluk. The founding members established the trust with the vision of bringing quality education to the rural heartland of Haveri district, starting with Kannada medium instruction for primary school students.
Growth & Recognition
Throughout the 1990s, the school steadily grew in enrolment and reputation. Additional classrooms were constructed, experienced teachers were recruited, and the school became known for its strong academic results and emphasis on discipline. The institution earned the trust and support of families across Akki-Alur and surrounding villages.
Expansion of Programs
The new millennium saw the expansion of the institution's academic offerings. Higher primary classes and additional subject streams were introduced. The school began participating in district and state-level competitions, with students consistently earning accolades in academics, sports, and cultural activities.
New Campus Construction
A major expansion project was undertaken with the construction of a modern campus building designed to house state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratories, and facilities. The new infrastructure was planned to support the upcoming launch of English medium education, reflecting the institution's forward-looking approach.
Launch of LKS English Medium School
The landmark moment in the institution's history arrived with the launch of Shri Laxman Keshappa Sheshagiri English Medium Higher Primary & High School. This new English medium wing was established to meet the growing aspirations of parents seeking global-standard education for their children, while maintaining the institution's core values and cultural identity.
Rapid Growth & Modern Era
The school has experienced remarkable growth, with enrolment surpassing 1,500 students and a teaching staff of over 85 professionals. Smart classrooms, digital learning tools, expanded science laboratories, and a comprehensive sports program have been introduced. The school consistently achieves a pass rate of 98% and above in state board examinations, establishing itself as one of the leading educational institutions in Haveri district.
