Where It All Began

The Founding of JVS

On the 7th of October, 1989, a group of passionate educationists and community leaders in Akki-Alur came together with a shared dream: to bring accessible, quality education to the children of the Hanagal region.

They founded Jnana Bharati Vidyavardhaka Sangha (Registered), an educational trust dedicated to the advancement of knowledge and the empowerment of youth.

The Sangha began its journey with a modest Kannada medium school, welcoming its first batch of students with great enthusiasm and the highest ideals of service through education.

Each decade has brought new milestones, achievements, and growth as we continue to expand our commitment to educational excellence.

1989

Jnana Bharati Vidyavardhaka Sangha (R) was formally registered on 7th October 1989 in Akki-Alur, Hanagal taluk. The founding members established the trust with the vision of bringing quality education to the rural heartland of Haveri district.

1990s

The school steadily grew in enrolment and reputation. Additional classrooms were constructed, experienced teachers were recruited, and the school earned the trust and support of families across Akki-Alur and surrounding villages.

2000s

The institution expanded its academic offerings with higher primary classes and additional subject streams. Students began participating in district and state-level competitions, consistently earning accolades.

2016-17

A modern campus building was constructed with improved classrooms and facilities. The new infrastructure was planned to support the upcoming launch of English medium education.

2017-18

The landmark launch of Shri Laxman Keshappa Sheshagiri English Medium Higher Primary & High School. This new English medium wing was established to meet the growing aspirations of parents seeking modern education for their children.

Present

The school continues to grow, with a dedicated teaching staff and a comprehensive academic program under KSEEB. Smart classrooms, expanded facilities, and a strong sports and cultural program define the modern era of the institution.
